On top of all the other things I've been trying to accomplish lately, I now have a full time/40 hour a week job (as well as my old job). At least it's some more money to pay bills with and hopefully get ahead a little, but it pretty much cuts into my free time - as if I really had any anyway.

Maybe the extra work will give me an excuse to spend some down time on the computer and especially dA. . .

I DID actually get a little vacation this last weekend. The "Salty Seniors" had an overnight gig in Kansas City. It's about a 5 hour drive from here - although it took closer to 9 with all the stops! I'm their roadie and official photographer, so I had to go. They're all senior adults, the oldest one is in her 80's. They mostly play for nursing homes, adult living centers, civic groups, churches, etc. They sing, tell jokes and share the gospel. plays cello with them. They're booked through April of next year! They're really lots of fun, it's sort of like hanging out with a bunch of really cool grandparents (you know how they spoil you). Anyway, I'm working on a website for them and hopefully I can get it up and running sometime soon.

Yep, I still need a vacation which has yet to happen. Seems the summer is just as busy as the rest of the year. . . I can't figure that one out!

I seem to have lost the desire to take photos for myself (or be able to find the time to go out and take them) for a while. I think it's finally coming back though. I've had to take some "required" pictures that other people have asked for, which I don't mind doing at all, since I just love taking pictures, it's just well. . . work. (as if I don't have enough of that!! )

I'm playing in the local University's summer band, gotta keep my music going!! I tend to get down and depressed when I'm not taking pictures or playing music. Speaking of music. . . check out [link] on playlist.com Free music while you're on your computer, not bad.

Really I do! I'm SO looking forward to spring break! I'm so behind on everything and I need to catch up. It's been more than a month since my last journal and I've been wanting to feature these two people for a very long time!!

I'm glad this didn't say anything about being INTERESTING facts! Anyway, here goes. . .

1. The thing I want the most - materialistically speaking - is a Harley - nothing big, just a little Sportster. . . with as much chrome and noise that will fit! I miss my old motorcycle.

2. Spiders don't really bother me (we have a pet tarantula) but scorpions scare the bejeezus out of me!

3. I teach classes on digital photography and some basic computer skills to senior adults in my church.

4. I'm also a roadie for a senior adult rhythm band, the "Salty Seniors"! I get to carry their instruments and music stands for their performances at other churches and nursing homes, etc . . . I made a few of their instruments and other things and of course, I'm also their photographer.

5. I love to shop at Lowe's and Home Depot. I love my power tools and I don't know what I'd do without my compound mitre saw and my beloved table saw and other fun tools. I'm working on finishing installing my hardwood floor tonight.

6. I love zombies, vampires and horror/splatter movies.

7. I LOVE music and play a few instruments. I love listening to music too, everything from classical to metal (country and rap are really the only genres I can't seem to get into)

8. I almost died when I was 3. I passed out, stopped breathing (turned blue) and no one knew why.

Matt was one of my very first watchers!! He has an amazing talent for drawing portraits and he has an incredible sense of humor. He also takes after his mom and is a great writer too - just read some of his journals! They never fail to make me laugh and/or really think about things. Matty's a big guy - he's 6'7"! with an even bigger heart and he's a wonderful artist who gets better with each drawing. . . . and he's SINGLE ladies!!

. . . well, not really. I've been sick all week, had to cancel classes, miss rehearsals, miss WORK (thanks David!! ) . . . so it was like a vacation!!
